Neosho’s Olivia Emery struck out ten batters and held Republic to just two base hits in a 3-0 shutout at Neosho Thursday. Emery faced only 26 batters over the seven-inning shutout.
The Wildcats broke on top in the bottom of the third inning, thanks to a two-out, two-run triple by Carleigh Kinnaird. They extended the lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the fourth on a single, a Republic error, and an RBI hit by Avyn Blair.
Republic’s only two base hits belonged to Addison Walker and Sammi Watson.
Piper Dishman suffered the loss, working three innings and allowing two runs on two hits. Only one of the runs was earned. She struck out five and walked one. Kara Goeke worked three innings in relief, allowing one run on three hits, walking one.
Neosho improves to 6-2, and Republic falls to 4-4 overall. The Lady Tigers are 0-2 in the Central Ozark Conference.
