Republic’s football team is ranked in the season’s first statewide poll of Missouri sports reporters. The Tigers are ranked number five six in Class 5 after opening the season with a win over Carthage.
Cardinal Ritter is ranked first, Grain Valley second, and Eureka third. Central Ozark Conference rival Webb City is fourth, and Jefferson City Helias is fifth, just ahead of the Tigers.
Fort Osage, Mary Institute/Country Day, Lebanon, and Platte County round out the top ten. Lebanon is in Republic’s district.
In Class 6, Nixa is ranked sixth and Joplin eighth.
