Republic opened its 2023 softball season with a dominating win over Hartville at the Morrisville Tournament, 12-0.
Gracie Woods hit a bases-loaded double and came all the way around to score on an error to give Republic a 4-0 lead in the first. She finished 2-for-2 with two runs scored, two RBIs, and two stolen bases.
In all, the Lady Tigers racked up 10 base hits and stole 12 bases in just three innings before the game was called.
Jenna Belcher stole three bases and scored twice.
Piper Dishman cut down the Hartville batting order, allowing just one hit over three innings. She struck out five and walked one.
Republic will play at 4:30 this afternoon.
