The number of pitches Myles Lozano has thrown — total — in two consecutive complete-game starts. Lozano needed just 89 pitches to dispatch Park Hill South in frigid temperatures at Kearney a week ago. Fifty-seven of those pitches were strikes. He threw the same number of pitches at Carl Junction last week in an 8-2 conference win, and he was even more efficient, throwing 65 strikes. Lozano’s overall record is 6-1.

7

The number of wins for Republic in its last 9 games. After a mid-season slump, the Tigers have gotten hot and are playing some of their best baseball of the year as we enter the home stretch. Their two losses to Kearney at William Jewell College  last weekend are the only two blemishes on the schedule since April 13.

6.2

The average margin of victory for Republic in its 14 wins this season. When the Tigers are on the winning side of the ledger, they are averaging more than ten runs and allowing a little more than four. In all games, including losses, the Tigers are outscoring opponents 8.4 – 6.0.

101

The number of career base hits for Gavyn Beckner. Beckner picked up his 100th career varsity base hit in Republic’s home win over Branson last week. He added another later in the game to give him 101 total — and still counting.

47

The number of stolen bases by Republic baserunners this season.  The Tigers have only been caught stealing four times. In Republic’s win against Carl Junction, Devon Hughes stole three bases and Wyatt Woods stole two. Gunner Ellison leads the team with 11 steals.
