Republic tennis celebrated Senior Night with its second Central Ozark Conference win of the week, an 8-1 victory over Neosho Thursday. The win followed a strong 6-3 victory over Nixa Tuesday.
Before the match, Republic recognized its senior class — Jon Cole, Chase Elder, Caleb Long, and Joseph Mountain.
“It’s an ideal group to get to work with in my first season,” said coach David Smashey. “They’re smart. They listen. They’re respectful to the coaches but also to their teammates. They’re really encouraging to the younger guys, and the younger guys look up to them as people and as players.”
The win improved Republic’s overall record to 7-3. The Tigers will host the Republic Invitational Friday.
