One day after posting an 8-0 win over Webb City, the Lady Tigers earned a second consecutive shutout, beating Harrison, Ark., 2-0. The game was part of the Kickapoo shootout and was played at Kickapoo.
Republic got goals from Kendra Phiri and Cameron Burton. Burton scored on a one-touch after a cross from Molly Blades on the right wing.
Republic has ten goals in its last two matches. That’s more goals than the Lady Tigers scored in their preceding six matches.
“They’re finding their groove,” said coach Jesus Zuniga. “Our highlight of the season can’t be in the middle of the season. (This is) just the beginning.”
Republic improves to 4-7. The Lady Tigers play at Joplin April 18.
