The number of saves made by Awbree Berning, a newcomer at the varsity goalkeeper position, in an overtime match against Springfield Catholic. Berning’s performance keyed a defensive battle that ended after 9:54 of overtime, when an Irish shot dropped just beneath the crossbar and over her outstretched hands. The MSHSAA record book lists only 25 goalkeepers who have ever recorded 22 or more saves in a single match.

The number of runs scored by Republic in their Friday win over the Aurora Houn’ Dawgs. It was the second-highest output of the season for Republic, which scored 18 runs against Columbia Rock Bridge, but needed nine innings to do it. Republic had 14 base hits in the win, 13 of them singles.

The team on-base percentage for Republic through its first 12 completed games. Republic has 461 plate appearances during those games, with 126 base hits, 56 walks, and 17 hit batsmen. In those 12 games, Republic is averaging 10.5 base hits per game. The school record is 10.8 hits per game, set by the 1991 team.

Gracie Troester’s time in the 3200m run at the Girls Night Out track meet at JFK Stadium in Springfield. Troester’s time demolished the old school record in that two-mile event, which had been set by Audra Robinson 21 years ago, in 2002. Troester’s time beat the old record by more than three seconds and it earned her second place at the meet, which saw more than 30 schools competing.

The javelin toss of Cooper Douglas in meters at the Hillcrest Invitational in Springfield Thursday. Douglas’s toss broke the old school record of 48.29 meters, set by Avery Moody last year.
