Republic had an immediate answer for Glendale’s first goal of the night — but not for the next four. The Falcons scored four unanswered goals to break a 1-1 tie and secure a 5-1 win in Republic Tuesday.
Riley Heman scored the first of her four goals with 29:09 left in the first half, but Cadence Lugar scored just ten seconds later on a feed from Kendra Phiri to tie the game 1-1.
That was the high point of the night for Republic, though, as Glendale scored again with 6:22 left in the half to take a 2-1 lead at the break — then put the game away with three more goals in the second half.
Lillian Weymuth had 13 saves in a losing cause for the Lady Tigers. Republic had just four shots on goal.
Glendale improves to 1-1. Republic falls to 2-2. The Lady Tigers will host Sedalia Smith-Cotton Thursday.
