Bekemeier Leads All-COC Selections

Kaemyn Bekemeier is co-player of the year in the Central Ozark Conference, heading up three all-COC girls basketball selections for Republic. Misora Nambara and Molly Blades also earned all-conference honors for the Lady Tigers.

Bekemeier shares the Player of the Year award with Destiny Buerge of Carl Junction. Both finished their careers with more than 2,000 career points.

Bekemeier averaged 22.6 points per game, scoring a school-record 674 points this season. She made 233 field goals, also a school record. And she tied Alexis Ladwig’s school record for three-pointers in a season, with 68. She did all of that while the Lady Tigers played arguably the toughest overall schedule in the COC.

Junior Misora Nambara was named to the all-COC second team. She averaged 8.3 points per game, second on the team to Bekemeier. She also dished out 82 assists and had 65 steals, leading the team in both categories.

Molly Blades, who joined the starting lineup early in the season, earned Honorable Mention. Blades averaged 8.0 points per game. She had 60 steals and 65 assists.
