Republic recognized all-state swimmer Bryce Martin at halftime of Thursday’s basketball game. His all-state plaque will hang alongside the plaques for other all-state athletes from Republic’s history.
Martin holds school records in eight different events. He was part of the record-setting 200-yard medley relay, the 200-yard freestyle relay, and the 400-yard freestyle relay.
He also holds school records in the 100-yard freestyle, the 500-yard freestyle, the 100-yard breaststroke, the 200-yard freestyle, and the 200-yard individual medley.
He won Republic’s first-ever Central Ozark Conference championship in the 100-yard backstroke in 2019. He also won the championship in the 100-yard freestyle in 2021.
He qualified for the state swim meet in four different events in his career, two as a junior and two as a senior. He was the first Republic boys swimmer earn points in a swim event at the state meet.
