Kaemyn Bekemeier scored 34 points and broke another career record for Republic Saturday, and it was our Performance of the Week!

Performance of the Week – December 19, 2022

When you’re already averaging 21.5 points per game, it’s not easy to raise your scoring average much higher with one game. But that’s what Kaemyn Bekemeier did in Republic’s Saturday win over Raytown. Bekemeier scored 34 points — her highest total of the season so far. That raised her average by nearly three points, to 24.3 ppg.

Bekemeier also broke another school record during her big performance. In the third quarter, she surpassed Amanda Newton-Plotner’s previous career record for field goals. Bekemeier had 12 field goals in the game and now has 625 for her career. The previous record was 619.

To put her 34-point performance in perspective, the single-game scoring record before Bekemeier came along was 36 points. (The record now is 48 points, set by Bekemeier last season at Willard.)
