EmmaLee Essary has been named to the Class 5 Region 3 All-Region softball team. Essary was the only senior on the team and the only member of this year’s Republic squad to earn all-region recognition. She was named to the first team along with four other infielders.
Essary hit .462 and slugged an even 1.000 during her senior season. She homered 13 times and finished the year with 29 extra base hits. She finished her career with 27 career home runs, tied with Kami Holt for the most in Republic program history.
The Central Ozark Conference placed 11 players on the all-region team in Class 5. Four of them, including Essary, were on the first team.
The all-region awards are given by the Missouri High School Fastpitch Coaches Association. The state is divided into four regions. In addition to southwest Missouri, Republic’s region includes schools in central Missouri and the Kansas City area.
