Noah Marshall finished seventh in the 100-yard backstroke, and he set a new personal-best time in the event, cutting his previous best by 1.26 seconds.

Even Alstad also competed for Republic in the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle races, but did not qualify for finals Saturday.

Lewis’s new school record in the butterfly is 53.71. His record in the backstroke is 56.44. Both those times qualify him for the state championship at St. Peters November 11-12.
