Republic volleyball won its third straight match, sweeping Carthage in three sets three successively more lopsided scores, 25-20, 25-18, 25-16.
Alaina Norman knocked down nine kills to lead the team. Rilynn Finley, Kailey Manes, and Kaemyn Bekemeier had eight apiece. Brooklyn Claxton led the team in assists with 22. Finley led the defense with 12 digs, and Manes had three blocks. Finley and Claire Esther each had three service aces.
Coach Allison Davis said this week’s road wins over Branson and Carthage have given her team an opportunity “to work on and tweak some areas that we want to be solid with moving into next week.”
Davis said Republic’s defense and serve receive has “stepped up this week, and I can’t wait to put it all together and be a continued force finishing our our last regular season game and into district play.”
The JV team won in three sets and the freshmen won in two.
Republic improved to 24-9 overall and 6-2 in the Central Ozark Conference. The Lady Tigers have one regular season game left, hosting Ozark next Tuesday.
The district tournament begins the following weekend.
