Republic Volleyball Snags Tenth Win

Republic’s volleyball team continued to roll with another win at home Thursday — and another sweep — this one against Camdenton. And it proved it can win big points and close games, which has been a point of emphasis for coach Allison Davis. After dominating the first set 25-10, Lady Tigers overcame multiple set points by Camdenton in the second set, winning 29-27. They won the final set 27-25.

Rilynn Finley led Republic with 16 kills, and Claire Esther served five aces to lead the team. Brooklyn Claxton served up 23 assists. Alaina Norman led the defense with ten digs.

The win is Republic’s tenth of the season. Just two years ago, Republic won only nine times all season. The Lady Tigers are 10-1 heading into the Hillcrest Invitational this weekend.
