Repmo Blitzes Bulldogs with 20-Run Night

Republic trailed 6-1 through three innings, but the Lady Tigers exploded for nine runs in the fourth inning to pull off a comeback conference win at Carl Junction, 20-7. Republic tacked on four more in the sixth inning, and six runs in the seventh.

The Lady Tigers had 19 base hits, led by Addison Walker’s four. Walker homered, drove in three runs, and scored five times. Addie Brown also homered, hit a triple, drove in five runs, and scored three times. Sammi Watson was 3-for-5 with three runs scored and two RBIs. Annabelle Gerhardt-Hobbs was 2-for-4 with two runs batted in.

Of Republic’s 19 base hits, eight of them were for extra bases.

Kara Goeke picked up the win in relief. She pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowing just one run on four hits. She struck out three and didn’t walk a batter.

Republic improves to 9-5. They’re 2-2 in the Central Ozark Conference. The Lady Tigers host Monett Friday.
