The number of senior athletes recognized at Republic High School this week. The first two Senior Night celebrations honored players on the volleyball and softball teams. For volleyball, Kaemyn Bekemeier, Claire Esther, and Kailey Manes were recognized during a home win over Neosho. For softball, the only senior on the team, EmmaLee Essary, was honored after an 18-17, 10-inning loss to Webb City. More senior celebrations are scheduled for later this fall, including one Monday at home for the girls tennis team.

The number of base hits by the Republic softball team during an 18-17 loss to Webb City at home Thursday. EmmaLee Essary had five of those hits, and she hit for the cycle, posting a single, two doubles, a triple, and a home run. Gracie Woods finished with five base hits in six at-bats.

The number of matches won so far this season by the Republic volleyball team. It’s the first time since 2013 the Lady Tigers have reached the 20-win mark. The Lady Tigers finished that year with a 23-11-1 mark. The year before, Republic was 28-8. The Lady Tigers have seven regular-season matches left before district play begins.

The number of runners in the girls Class 4/5 field at the Riann Lubinski Invitational in Nixa this week. Out of the 67 runners, Gracie Troester was the fastest — and it wasn’t even close. Troester finished the race in hot, muggy conditions in 20:36.1. That was 48 seconds faster than the second-place finisher.

The number of complete passes thrown by Republic quarterback Wyatt Woods this season through four games. The Tigers only completed 17 passes as a team all last season. Woods is 19 for 35 for 359 yards and four touchdowns and no interceptions. That’s good for a quarterback rating of 128. He’s also rushed for 405 yards.

The average number of yards per carry for Republic’s top four running backs this season. Gunner Ellison has the highest per-carry average, at 10.17. Woods is averaging 8.6 yards per carry. Connor Sandridge isn’t far behind at 7.4, and Kanon Krol is averaging more than 5 yards per carry as a fullback.
