Underdog Neosho played Republic to a 14-14 tie in the first quarter. Then the Lady Tigers snapped out of it.
Republic went on a 32-3 run through the second and third quarters, pulling away from the Lady Wildcats for a 59-25 win on the road. Republic outscored Neosho 13-0 in the second quarter, then 19-3 in the third quarter.
Kaemyn Bekemeier led Republic with 19 points. Hope Schatz had 11, and Misora Nambara had 10, joining Bekemeier in double figures.
Unofficially, Republic had 33 rebounds, 16 of them at the offensive end.
The win improves Republic’s record to 14-5 overall and 3-0 in the Central Ozark Conference.
Weather permitting, the Lady Tigers will host Carthage Thursday. Republic won an earlier meeting against Carthage in the semifinals of the Pink & White Tournament.
