With three-game winning streaks for both the Tigers and Lady Tigers basketball teams, the answer to “Who’s hot in Republic athletics?” could be answered in a lot of different ways. But the most recent hot streak belonged to Hope Schatz, the junior guard for the Lady Tigers.
Schatz came out on fire Monday night, dropping in two three-pointers in the first minute of the game, adding a third before the first quarter ended, and finishing with a career-high 17 points. She stepped up on the defensive end, too, forcing numerous turnovers. Schatz’s eight assists going into Monday’s game was also tied for tops on the team.
