Karissa Metzger swam in two individual races during a Friday meet in Springfield, and she won both of them. Metzger finished first in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:21.15. She finished five seconds ahead of the second-place swimmer in that race.
She also won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:12.16. In that event, she was three seconds faster than the second-place finisher.
At the All-Relay Meet in Springfield Thursday, Republic’s best finish was 8th in the 200-yard breaststroke relay. Metzger, Maddy Barnes, Lena Mais, and Jillian Aubuchon finished with a time of 2:57.12 in that event.
