Republic has only three swimmers, but they made the most of their time at the Central Ozark Conference championships in Webb City Tuesday. All three swimmers finished with a medal.
Photos below.
Brady Lewis won gold in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.03. Seth Lock finished second in 1:02.27. Both those times were more than two seconds off their personal bests this season, but good enough to earn gold and silver.
Bryce Martin won the COC title in the 100-yard freestyle, shaving nearly a second off his previous season best and breaking a school record with a time of 52.44.
Lock missed out on his best shot for gold when he left the blocks early and was disqualified in the 50-yard freestyle. Based on the times of other swimmers in the race, Lock would likely have won that event if he’d been able to finish.
