In singles play, Crawford and Howard both won quickly, giving Republic a 4-1 lead in matches. When Stan’s victory finished off the Irish, Izzy Wells was leading, Morgan Lewis was locked in a third-set tiebreaker, and Abby McCord was down a set, but led 4-0 in the second set and was on her way to tying it up.

The Lady Tigers are 16-2, and they advance to play for a district championship against Springfield Central at the Gillenwaters tennis courts near Kickapoo High School.

Republic and Central split two matches earlier this season.
