Republic volleyball won its fifth straight match Monday, sweeping Mt. Vernon on the road, 25-17, 25-15, 25-20.
Kailey Manes went on the attack, piling up 14 kills to lead the team. Rilynn Finley put up a big night defensively on the front row, with four blocks. Mykenzie Hicks also contributed to the defensive success with 13 digs.

During its five-match winning streak, Republic has dropped just one set. That was in a 3-1 win over Springfield Central. The Lady Tigers have swept Glendale, Camdenton, Marshfield, and Mt. Vernon for the other four wins during the streak. They’re 9-3 overall.
Republic will be at home Tuesday for a conference match against Neosho. They’ll also celebrate Senior Night, honoring two seniors – Megan Decker and Hicks – before the varsity match.
