The Republic freshman baseball team has gotten off to quite the start in 2021. They’re 13-2 through their first fifteen games and, through that fifteen-game stretch, have outscored their opponents 149-54, which means that they’re averaging just under 10 runs a game and given up just over 3 runs a game. The team has also hit three home runs and thrown a no-hitter.
On Tuesday the Tigers had one of their wildest games of the season against Ozark. They got blew their 10-3, but home runs by Caide White and Mason Mitchell kept the Tigers in it and the game went into extras tied at 15. Trace Harrington secured the win for Republic with his walk-off triple in the eighth inning.

Mason Mitchell: 2-0. Over the fence home run at home vs Ozark.
Devon Hughes: 2-2 #2 hole hitter. Great player at second and short.
Myles Lozano: 3-0.
Ethan Anderson 1-0. Hitting well.
Trey Gianopulos: 11-21: 4 BB. 4 RBI, 15 Runs, 5 SB. Best 9 hole hitter in COC, and a tough competitor.
Michael Worthy 6 SB.
Cole Gimlin: Inside the park homer at home vs Mt Vernon. Toughest kid. Great bat and play at 2nd and catcher.
Wyatt Woods: Great leader, fantastic catcher. Great bat. Great runner.
Trace Harrington: GW walk-off 3b with two out and full count in 9th inning of 16-15 Ozark win. 6 triples.
Brett Hendrickson: Great bat, steady outfielder.
Carter Nation: Key hits. Great glove at 3rd. Leader.
Zander Radloff: Quiet and steady as a reliever and 2nd base.
Michael Worthy came off the bench vs Ozark and had a huge 2 out rbi hit and played great in that crazy win. Good outfielder.

The success of this team has the coaching staff of Republic excited about the future season of Tiger baseball, and they hope that they can continue to grow as players and people and put themselves in a position to contribute at the varsity level, maybe sooner than anticipated.
