The Republic tennis team is off to a fast start in the Central Ozark Conference. The Tigers knocked off Neosho and Carl Junction in their first two conference matches this week.
Tuesday, Republic swept Neosho in a 9-0 win. The Tigers followed that up with a Thursday win, 8-1, against the Bulldogs. The exclamation point on that win was a 9-8 tiebreaker win (7-5) by Jacob Moody in the #4 singles slot.
The junior varsity squad continues its strong play, as well. The JV has won 17 straight individual matches, and that’s a record for the program.
The varsity Tigers are 3-1 overall. Republic tennis is back in action for a big road match against COC rival Branson Monday.
