Republic tennis celebrated Senior Night with a Central Ozark Conference win over Joplin. The Tigers won two of three doubles matches, then followed it up with six straight wins in singles play.
Before play began, Republic honored its seniors: Drew McMillin, Ian Deckard, Jacob Moody, and Scott Carpenter. All four have worked their way through the lineup into varsity spots, despite missing their junior season.
The highlight on the court was a win by McMillin in the #1 singles match. McMillin fell behind 5-2, but stormed back to capture six straight games and win 8-5.
The JV team won 11-0, improving to 11-1 this season. The varsity team is now 7-5 overall and 4-2 in the Central Ozark Conference.
