The Lady Tigers track team finished fifth out of 19 schools at the SBU High School Class 4-5 Invitational. Republic finished with 64 team points, just four points behind Rolla’s third-place total of 68. The boys team finished 16th.
Kaitlyn Ragsdale earned points in three individual events and a relay, finishing fourth in the 100 meter hurdles, fifth in the 100 meter dash, sixth in the 300 meter hurdles, and anchoring the 4×100 meter relay team, which finished sixth.
Aaliyah Vasquez also earned points in four events, finishing fifth in the triple jump and playing a role in the 4×100, 4×200, and 4×400 meter relays.
AJ Fenske was the only participant to earn points in both the girls’ throwing events, and she was the only Republic competitor to finish in the top three in two individual events. She finished second in the discus and third in the shot put. Only one other competitor cracked the top ten in both events.
Ethan Haynes was the top finisher for Republic’s boys, taking second in the 2000 meter steeplechase.
