Offense Falls Flat in First Soccer Loss

The Lady Tigers’ fast offensive start to the soccer season came to an abrupt halt Wednesday in Rolla. The Bulldogs shut out Republic 1-0.

“I thought we came out flat tonight, and unorganized,” said coach Kevin Hauck. “It put us in a hole early.”

Hauck said Rolla had only a few good scoring opportunities all night, but took advantage of one of those chances about 15 minutes into the game, then made it hold up. Republic “dominated” the second half, Hauck said, but “just could not score. (It was a) frustrating night, but a good learning moment for us.”

Republic will return home Thursday for a game against Sedalia Smith-Cotton.
