Republic’s tennis team stayed unbeaten in the conference Tuesday with a 7-2 win on the road at Branson. Republic won two of three doubles matches to start the night, then followed it up with five wins in six singles matches.
Elsie Crawford, Jasmine Howard, Abby McCord, Sedalia Shumaker, and Morgan Lewis were winners in singles.
The Lady Tigers are 4-3 overall, and 3-0 in the Central Ozark Conference. They meet Springfield Central Wednesday at 4 pm at Gillenwaters Tennis Complex.
“Overall, we played a strong night of tennis. Branson is well coached and a
rivalry match, so it is always nice to come out with a convincing win
against them,” said coach Dan Vales. “The seven matches we won were all by a score of 8-2 or better. We look forward to the challenge tomorrow night at Gillenwaters versus tennis power Central. (It) should be fun.”
