Republic volleyball lost in three sets to Springfield Kickapoo Thursday, 18-25 10-25 8-25. This season, a rules change by the Missouri State High School Activities Association expands varsity matches to best-three-out-of-five.
Three different Republic players posted four kills: Rilynn Finley, Kaemyn Bekemeier, and Avery Riggs. Bekemeier led the team with three blocks. Payge Plank added 15 assists for the Lady Tigers, and Mykenzie Hicks had seven digs.
Republic falls to 1-4-2.
