Three Republic wrestlers won medals at the Central Ozark Conference meet Saturday. Two of them are COC champs.
Jonathan O’Connell stayed unbeaten for the season with a championship at 145 pounds. He beat Ryder Heimbach of Willard by tech fall in the championship match.
Freshman Connor Sandridge won a championship in his first varsity conference tournament. He pinned Kelten Campbell of Carthage just 1:14 into the opening round of the championship match to claim his title at 160.
Republic’s other medal belongs to Wyatt George at 106 pounds. George was unbeaten through the tournament until the finals, when Zan Fugitt pinned him with just eight seconds left in the third and final round.
