Karissa Metzger and Mady McCrea topped the results for Republic at the Ozarks Swim Invitational in Springfield Saturday. Metzger recorded the team’s best finish of the day in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing third out of 45 competitors.
Metzger also finished fourth (in a 37-competitor field) in the 200-yard freestyle, knocking more than 3 1/2 seconds off her previous best time.
McCrea finished fourth in two different individual events. In the 200-yard individual medley, which included 26 swimmers, she bested her previous fastest time by more than three seconds. In the 100-yard breaststroke, she was .31 seconds off her best time, but finished fourth out of 31 swimmers.
The best relay finish for Republic came in the 200-yard medley relay. Sarah Baker, Mady McCrea, Marissa Metzger, and Kathryn Flippin finished seventh.
