For the second week in a row, Miha Nambara is our answer to the question, “Who’s red hot in Republic athletics?” Nambara followed up her sectional-qualifying cross country run with an even better performance – this time to qualify for the state cross country meet in Columbia.
Nambara has continued to improve all season, and turned in her best time ever at sectionals in Joplin. She finished the race in 19:34.60, a personal best. That was good for a 19th-place finish and a spot in the state meet to be held at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course next Saturday, November 9.
