For most of the first set, Republic’s underdog Lady Tigers hung with heavily favored Nixa. After the first 34 points of the night, the teams were tied 17-17. But from that point on, Nixa’s senior-heavy squad stepped up its game and pulled away, winning 33 of the next 45 points for a straight-set win, 25-18, 25-11.
Nixa opened the second set with six straight points and built a 15-5 lead to put the game away.
Rylee Moseman had five kills for the Lady Tigers, and she also led the team with four digs and 11 assists.
Republic falls to 10-12-3 overall, and 2-5 in the Central Ozark Conference. Nixa is 24-4 overall.
