The Lady Tigers golf team marked the return of a key player with an improved finish at the Pearson Invitational in Springfield Tuesday. Republic welcomed Clara Fronabarger back to the lineup as she continues her recovery from a spring injury, helping the Lady Tigers finish 10th as a team, with a score of 438. That was a tie with Nixa and five shots ahead of another Central Ozark Conference rival, Willard.
Regan Holmes led Republic with a 93. Fronabarger shot a 94.
Springfield Catholic shot a 295 to win the tournament, 21 shots ahead of runner-up Glendale. Ozark finished third.
Ashlyn Leonard, Quinn McCrea, and Lena Mais also competed for Republic, finishing with scores of 122, 129, and 137, respectively.
