Jasmine Howard and Izzy Wells captured the championship of the Republic JV Tournament Friday. Howard and Wells teamed up to win all three of their matches, including a tiebreaker win over Nixa, 7-6 (7-2), to clinch the top-flight title.
Caytlin Peltz and Mia Stan finished third, winning two of their three matches in Flight #1.
In Flight #2, Anna Davidson and Wrigley Cook earned a second-place finish for Republic. Olivia Cox and Ryleigh Gilmore finished fourth.
In Flight #3, Morgan Lewis and Sylvia Haley won their bracket. Their three wins include a come-from-behind thriller in which they recovered from a 5-1 deficit to win 7-5.
In the team race, Republic and Nixa tied with 41 points apiece.
