The Lady Tigers tennis team started its week with two straight Central Ozark Conference wins against traditional league powers. And they achieved both in convincing fashion.
Monday, the Lady Tigers dominated Nixa 8-1. Republic swept all three doubles matches, then won five of six on the singles side. At #2 doubles, Carly McAtee and Hannah Morgan swept their match 8-0. In singles, Elsie Crawford posted a convincing 8-0 win over Megan Brassard.
Tuesday, Republic swept Branson 9-0. The Lady Tigers fell behind in all three doubles matches before righting the ship and sinking the Pirates. In the #1 doubles match, Crawford and Katie Stiles fell behind 1-5 before winning seven consecutive games to post an 8-5 victory. It’s the first time in program history that Republic has swept Branson 9-0.
Republic is 4-0 in the conference, 4-1 overall. The Lady Tigers will host Carthage Thursday. Friday, Republic is the site of the annual Republic JV Tournament, starting around noon.
