The Republic Tiger Sharks won 14 of 78 events at the Southwest Missouri Swim Championships at Drury University Thursday. The Republic team finished third overall out of nine teams competing in the “Public Pool” division. The Tiger Sharks were in contention for the championship, finishing with 531 points, just 24 points off the lead. The Spring Creek team had 555 points, and the Springfield Stingrays had 550. There was nearly a 100-point gap between the top three and fourth place.
Rebekah Wilkinson led the way for the Tiger Sharks, finishing first in four events – three individual races and one relay.
Wyatt Carter and Zaylie Pinnell each finished first in three individual events. Amelia Walsh and Simon Greek won single individual events as well.
Bryce Martin, Seth Lock, and Ben Wright each participated in two relay victories. Garrett Carpenter, Payton Clark, Sarah Baker, Lena Mais, and Ella Peters also finished first in one relay race each.
