Central Ozark Conference newcomer Joplin powered through the top of the lineup to hand Republic’s tennis team its second straight defeat after a 10-0 start. The Eagles won all three doubles matches and five of six singles matches for the 8-1 win.
Republic’s only win came at the #6 singles slot, where Jared Zane picked up a win. Republic’s next-best performances came in the #2 and #3 doubles matches, where the Tigers hung close before losing.
Republic’s JV team did have a dominating night. The Tigers won 24 of 26 JV matches.
