Republic missed the opportunities that would have helped keep its undefeated season alive in a 6-3 loss to Springfield Glendale Wednesday at Cooper Tennis Complex. The Tigers had match points in two of the matches they lost, and if they had won those points, it would have swung the overall balance in their favor, 5-4.
Will Berry and Jack Cook won their singles matches for the Tigers, and Berry and Cook also teamed up to win their doubles match. But in two matches––Kile Thornhill at #4 singles and Drew McMillin/Lucas Hayes at #3 doubles––Republic couldn’t capitalize on match points and ended up losing.
The loss drops Republic to 10-1 overall. The Tigers face Joplin at home Thursday.
