After their worst defensive performance of the year, the Lady Tigers were back to their old selves in a 2-0 win at Joplin. The win ended a two-game losing skid for Republic, who had lost 2-1 to Kickapoo last week, then had given up four goals in a 4-2 loss at Willard Tuesday.
Jones and Hicks scored for Republic, and Jessica Montenegro added an assist, as goalkeeper Bella Drennan and the defense returned to the shutout column.
The win improved Republic’s record to 12-4 overall.
