Republic’s golf team continues to roll. For the second straight tournament, the Tigers turned in a runner-up team finish. The latest effort was at Greene Hills Country Club in Willard Thursday. Republic finished second out of 12 teams with a score of 349.
Republic’s performance was its most consistent all year. All five golfers were within 10 strokes of each other on their final score, and four of the five were within two strokes of each other.
Griffin Frey and Kolby Hosp both finished in the top 10 individually. Frey finished 8th with an 86. Hosp was 9th with an 87. Tyson Young and Kendall Hamilton both shot an 88, and Austin O’Hara finished with a 96.
In its last three tournaments, Republic has a fourth-place finish and two second-place finishes. The Tigers will be at Briarbrook Country Club in Carl Junction Monday for the Central Ozark Conference Tournament.
