Republic’s Jordan Carter and Nick Rose combined to allow just three hits in a 10-2 win at home against Bolivar Friday. Carter picked up the win. He pitched five innings, allowing two runs (0 earned) on just two hits. He didn’t walk or strike out a batter.
Tyler Cavener reached base four times. He was 3-for-3 with a walk, an RBI, and two runs scored. Clayton Crowley tripled, scored twice, and drove in two runs. Easton Prevo was 1-for-2 with three RBIs.
Bolivar struck first with two runs in the top of the second, but Republic got one run back in the bottom of the inning when Jacob Crosswhite singled home Prevo.
Condensed Game:
The Tigers scored four runs each in the next two innings. In the third, Jaden Duvall walked and Cavener singled. With one out, Crowley was hit by a pitch and Prevo walked to force home a run. Crowley scored on a groundout, Vincent Pyeatt walked, and Crosswhite singled home Prevo.
In the fourth, Harrington was hit by a pitch. With one out, Cavener and Kyle Hill both singled, scoring Harrington. Crowley tripled two runs home, and Prevo followed that up with a single to score Crowley.
The Tigers scored their final run in the bottom of the sixth when Duvall reached on an error, then scored later in the inning on a groundout.
Rose pitched two innings in relief, allowing one hit. He struck out the side to end the game in the seventh.
Republic improves to 7-8.
