Strafford Shuts Down Baseball Tigers

Republic managed just five hits and committed five errors Monday in a 7-1 loss at Strafford. The Indians scored all seven of its runs in two innings––four in the third and three in the fourth.

Easton Prevo and Tyler Cavener each had two hits for Republic. Prevo scored the Tigers’ only run. Jacob Crosswhite had the other hit for the Tigers.

Clayton Crowley took the loss on the mound. He allowed all seven runs, but only one of them was earned. He struck out two and walked three, allowing five hits in 3 1/3 innings.

Vincent Pyeatt came in to relieve Crowley. He pitched 2 2/3 shutout innings, striking out two and not allowing a hit.

Republic falls to 1-3. The Tigers play again at Monett next Monday.
