The Republic soccer team doubled its scoring output for the early season with a 3-2 win over West Plains on the road Thursday. The Tigers got two goals from Drew Flippin and one from Austin Beck to pick up the win.
In Republic’s first first four games, the offense had scored a total of three goals.
The Tigers are now 2-3. That’s their record through five games last season, when they recovered to advance to the Final Four and a state third-place finish.
Republic travels to Branson next Tuesday. They’re home again next Thursday against Parkview.
The Republic JV team also won, 1-0, with its goal coming from Holden Kendrick.
