For a while Tuesday night, it looked like the softball Lady Tigers’ chase for a conference championship might hit a major roadblock. Republic fell behind 4-0 at Nixa before the Lady Tigers’ offense got to work.
Two home runs — a solo shot by Julia Higgins and a three-run homer by Megan Thorne — tied the game. Republic rode that momentum to a 9-4 win.
The victory pushes Republic’s record to 14-2 overall and 5-0 in the Central Ozark Conference. They have a big showdown at home Thursday against Webb City.
