Owen Outruns Competition

Skyler Owen was the fastest of the fast at one of the biggest track meets of the year, winning the 100 meter dash at the Hillcrest Invitational. Owen finished first out of 47 competitors, running the race in a time of 11.28 seconds.

Two competitors from conference rival Carl Junction finished second and third.

Jake Jones finished 12th in the long jump, with a distance of 19’9.75″. Cameron Flood, who is competing in triple jump for the first time this season, finished 21st in that event with a distance of 39’3.5″.

The Republic 4×100 relay team, with Owen, Jones, Flood, and Jaden Appleberry, finished 12th of 26 teams with a time of 45.55. The same group was 15th in the 4×200 relay, finishing in 1:35.99.
