For a team that allowed seven goals in its first two games of the season, the Lady Tigers are showing off some great defense. And the offense isn’t half-bad, either. Tuesday night at Neosho, the defense, with Tara Campbell in goal, posted its fifth shutout in eight games, in a 6-0 conference victory. It was the fourth shutout in a row for the Lady Tigers, who haven’t allowed an opponent to score since a 1-0 loss to Glendale.
The offense blew the game open with five goals in the second half to keep Republic’s Central Ozark Conference record spotless.
“We really started connecting in the second half on our passes, which opened up the game for us,” says coach Kevin Hauck.
Anna Jones put Republic on top 1-0 in the first half, with an assist from Clara Fronabarger.
Emma Pearce made it 2-0 with an assist from Fronabarger, then Fronabarger added two goals of her own to double the lead to 4-0. Fronabarger picked up her third assist of the night on a goal by Abbie Hicks, and Jones scored her second goal, assisted by Megan Garbee, to finish the scoring.
Republic improves to 6-2 this season.
The JV Lady Tigers won as well, 1-0, on a goal by Yeraldin Quezada.

Farr Better Player of the Game
As the back wall of the Lady Tigers defense, goalkeeper Tara Campbell can often get blamed when things go wrong — but deserves recognition when things go right. And things are going very, very right for the Lady Tigers defense, which hasn’t allowed a goal since March 29th. For turning in her fourth consecutive shutout, Campbell is our Farr Better Player of the Game.
