Camdenton Capitalizes on Miscues to Beat Republic

Camdenton scored three unearned runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to break a 3-3 tie and beat Republic 6-3 on a cold night in Camdenton. The Lakers had scored three first-inning runs, but Republic tied the game in the fourth before allowing Camdenton to retake the lead.

The Tigers managed only three hits — one by Jaden Duvall, one by Clayton Crowley, and one by Cameron Beck, who drove in two runs during the Tigers’ lone offensive outburst.

Beck was also on the mound for Republic, and took the loss. He allowed six runs — three of them earned — in six innings. He struck out one and walked one, allowing eight hits.

The Tigers’ three runs came in the fourth, when Crowley led off with a single, Landin Sigman walked with one out, and both of them advanced a base on a passed ball. Beck singled to score them both, and then scored on a Camdenton error.

The Tigers fall to 3-5. They’ll play at Carthage Tuesday night.
