Two-time state champion Haven Lander has taken her place alongside some of the other best athletes in Republic High School history. The school recognized Lander with an all-state plaque during a recent basketball game, honoring her for her career as a Lady Tiger.
Lander was one of the top pole vaulters in the state during all four of her high school years. She finished sixth in the state as a freshman and fourth as a sophomore. She won the 2016 state championship in Class 4 with a vault of 11’6″. She won the Class 5 state championship as a senior with a vault of 11’9″. She also holds the school record with a vault of 12’0″.
Lander also qualified for state as a member of a sprint relay team as a sophomore and a junior. She was part of the 4×200 relay team that holds the school record in that event.
Lander was also competed at the Missouri state cheer competition all four years of high school. As a junior, she was part of the state championship team in the Co-ed Large Division at state.
She currently competes in pole vault at Pittsburg State University, where she recently set a new personal best with a vault of 12’10” during the indoor season. That qualified her for nationals.
